I have a Master of Science in Professional Counseling from Grand Canyon University.

In addition, I have completed EMDR training, focusing on trauma, addiction, dissociation, and eating disorders, facilitated a DBT group for adolescents for many years, and am currently pursuing EMDR certification and fulfilling consultation requirements to become an Eating Disorder Specialist.

I work with children, teenagers, adults, seniors, and families of all ages.

EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Research in psychology and physiology suggests that Bi-Lateral Stimulation (BLS) enables the brain to access different neural networks, pairing traumatic experiences with adaptive networks to alleviate and resolve trauma symptoms.

This process enables the brain to make essential connections that support self-healing. Individuals receiving EMDR often notice reduced anxiety, fewer panic attacks, and less frequent intrusive thoughts and dreams.

The short answer is yes, I do not share the details of therapy sessions with parents. While parents have the legal right to be informed about their child’s therapy, the effectiveness of treatment relies on the trust and confidence between the therapist and client.

Typically, parents are expected not to interfere with this therapeutic relationship, and information will only be shared with them in the case of an emergency.

I’ve always been fascinated by what helps people heal and grow. After going through my own challenges, I wanted to help others find calm and clarity as well.

I love hiking, traveling, cycling, skiing, playing with my dogs, and reading – anything that helps me stay grounded and present.

I used to perform in a jazz band playing the baritone saxophone!
